Conclusion

We have to be honest and say that the Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 8800 is probably as perfect a cooler as is possible for the GeForce 8800 Series. It looks great, is not much different in size to the stock cooling, is incredibly easy to install and runs quieter than the stock model. The only downside to the product is that depending on the motherboard layout it may cause a 3rd slot to become unusable rather than just two with the standard cooler. Of course when this is compared to the Thermalright HR-03 with 92mm fan the loss of three slots is not an issue.

The great design and ease of use are not the best aspect of the Xtreme, that honour is left for the performance. Even when running on the fastest Ultra that money can buy the cooler outperformed its main competition by thirteen degrees Celsius and all that whilst having a lower RRP.

The Accelero Xtreme 8800 is without doubt the best 8800 series cooler currently available.

Price TBC at time of press (we reckon around the 50 dollar mark)
