X58 Roundup – July 2009

On First Page2. Asus P6T Deluxe V2

Introduction

When Core-i7 was launched last year it was believed that it would be followed by midrange Nehalem CPUs in the first half of 2009 however that did not happen. This meant that motherboard manufacturers who had been planning for a selection of products on this new platform were left with an empty release schedule for several months. Many of them seem to have decided to fill this void with as many Socket 1366/X58 boards as they could design with various levels of cost and functionality targeted. The two manufacturers we feature today have seventeen X58 boards between them which gives some idea of the amount of boards now available for the i7 range.

First up on the review bench is the top model in the Asus P6T desktop family, the P6T Deluxe V2, it competes against two high performance boards from Foxconn, the FlamingBlade and BloodRage GTI. Read on to find out which best meets your requirements in regards to performance and functionality.
