Acer issue recalls on Aspire laptops

Acer are recalling some Aspire notebooks after reports that they overheat. The outfit are keen to state that they are being proactive rather than wait on the government to force its hand.

The units affected by the issue are Acer Aspire models, AS3410, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3801TZG which were manufactured before September 15, 2009.

The stated problem is due to overheating when the microphone cable is put under pressure below the left palm rest. This apparently causes the chassis to deform and the system can malfunction. Acer has said they will replace the microphone cable in the affected units to stop overheating.

If you need to check your laptop for the possible problem head over here and enter in your serial number.
