Capcom 2010 Releases Hit By Delays

Capcom revealed today that it there would be a major revision to their release calendar with games set to be out in early new year being affected. Most of those titles will now be put back to the start of the next financial year in April.

The games affected include Super Street Fighter IV, Lost Planet 2 and the international release of Monster Hunter Tri. Those releases could now appear on shelves anytime between April 2010 and March 2011 depending on what the company decides. This same period of time will also feature the eagerly awaited Dead Rising 2 as well as other major releases.

Capcom made the decision to delay these titles to avoid direct competition with others released by rival companies in the same period. These would include the release of Final Fantasy XIII, Mass Effect 2 and BioShock 2, to name three that are due before April.

What will be frustrating about the delays is that no specific dates have been attached to each game, meaning fans will be left in the dark as to when they can expect to be able to play the new titles. Those awaiting the release of Dark Void will not be disappointed however as the game is still on target for a January release.
