Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook

The popular Dell Mini 10 Netbook is the latest machine to get a Pineview overhaul. The newly styled Mini 10 will come equipped with the new 1.66ghz Atom N540 processor and integrated GMA 3150 graphics. Dell are claiming a 9-10 hour battery life from their optional six cell battery which is perfectly feasible real world.

The system comes with a 10.1 inch display which offers a 1024×600 resolution as well as 160GB of storage and 1GB of DDR2 memory. There is also built in wirelss connectivity and it will ship with a 3 cell battery which should be good for between 4 and 5 hours of life. Dell are aiming to start shipping these in January 2010 and prices are starting at $299. We would expect this to translate to around £250 although Dell UK pricing recently has been rather high so it could very well end up a straight $ to £ conversion.

Rather interestingly Dell are offering future upgrades for the Mini 10 in the shape of the Broadcom HD Video Accelerator which will help the processor cope with full HD content. There are also plans to release a 720p screen version (1366×768). How much these extras will cost however is open for debate right now, once we get further information we will keep you updated.
