Google Chrome OS smartbook

Product image

There has been almost as much hype surrounding the release of the new Google Smartbook as there has been for Apples upcoming Tablet. More information has been posted online by IBtimes which states that Google have already been in contact with several notebook makers and have sent out requests for proposals in relation to an ARM based smartbook design.

The latest rumours say that the smartbook will be based around nVidia Tegra and it will feature a 64gb SSD, 2GB of ram, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G as well as a 10.1 inch multitouch screen.

The pricing is not yet confirmed but with Google’s buying power we can assume the cost to the punter will be relatively low, especially with Google’s Chrome OS used as the operating system.
