Nokia to close flagship store

Nokia to close flagship store

Product image

Nokia are going to close their flagship store in Regent Street, London after a two year trading period. Regent Street is a very exclusive location in London and Nokia’s store is only a little down the road from Apple’s Premier London store.

The Times have reported that Nokia spent £4 million in the design of the store which was ‘inspired by the forest of Finland’ and unfortunately for Nokia it appears there have been more staff in the store than actual customers.

Nokia have already stated that in 2010 they will only release half as many phones as they did in 2009 to ‘cut down unnecessary differentiation for a more focused portfolio”. The closing of the London store comes as a bit of a blow to the company who have been in the news recently for having to withdraw their N97 due to software issues.

All is not well with Nokia and we hope to see them having more success in 2010.
