The third game in the Assassin’s Creed trilogy will be set in ancient Rome, seeing the protagonist Ezio slashing through togas and dodging centurions. The storyline will somehow tie to him wanting to “strike at the heart” of the Templar order.

The information was revealed during a conference call by Ubisoft who were discussing the results of the third quarter of their financial year. It was also revealed that the multiplayer aspect of the game will be more important in this version than in the previous games, but it was not specified how.

Gcse Drama Coursework Help The release date for the game is still up in the air, but the scheduled March 2011 release will almost certainly be brought forward, possibly in time for sale at Christmas. Already Ubisoft are whetting the appetite for fans of the series. Their CEO said:

“We have a new Assassin’s Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component. It is the same studios because it’s not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen.”
