More Fallout: New Vegas Details Emerge

A story ran in The USA Today about Fallout: New Vegas contained some information about the games storyline and how it might play. On the surface the game sounds as if it will be taking all the elements that made Fallout 3 a hit and expanding on the already colourful world in which it took place.

No longer are you a nameless Vault survivor, instead the game begins with you being shot and left for dead in the middle of one of the wastelands. After a robot – the same as the one seen in the game trailer – finds you and takes you to a doctor you will then be able to customise your character.

The game takes part years after the events of Fallout 3 but there is no overlapping or linking storyline elements. Peter Hines, the Vice President of Marketing for Bethesda, said in the article:

“Vegas is up and running. It is not a ghost town. It still exists and thrives. There are casinos, and you can go down onto the Strip. It will have a very different feel from that standpoint.”

The size of the in game world is said to be the same as Fallout 3 and Bethesda have promised that exploring everything will take “hundreds” of hours.
