Primal Carnage Set For Release This Year

Lukewarm Media have announced what could be a sleeper hit in the form of Primal Carnage, a multiplayer co-op game where mercenaries take on dinosaurs in a fight for survival.

The class-based multiplayer game will feature five different types of mercenaries against five different species of dinosaurs, the blending of which could be comparable to the likes of Team Fortress 2. The game’s storyline, set in the aftermath of a “military experiment” gone wrong, seems little more than an excuse for some good old fashioned carnage and therein could lie the games appeal.

As is the fashion with games of this nature, there will be a variety of playing modes. Survival will see up to five mercenaries fending off AI dinosaur attacks in waves, with a final boss to be defeated at the end of the run. Power-Grid mode is again similar to TF2 in that teams have to capture certain points of the map and defend them successfully from their opponent as they look to push forward.

Although a release date is vague it seems likely it will be released in the last quarter of the year and the lead designer, Ashton Andersen, has said that the price will likely be in the region of $20.
