Apple and Google Meet for Coffee

Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt meet for coffee.

Possibly the current two most powerful people on the internet (Schmidt) and mobile market (Jobs) met yesterday (Sunday 28th March 2010) for coffee in a public place after much has been made of the apparent wedge that had been driven between the two executives recently.

Google and Apple have had a good relationship up until the announcement of the Nexus One mobile phone and the feeling from Apple and its outspoken CEO Steve Jobs was that Google had betrayed Apple. Apple has been good to Google with default search inclusion in its iPhone series of phones.

However ever since Google partnered with HTC to create its own smartphone some media outlets reported that there was a personal rift developing between Schmidt and Jobs – CEO’s of Google and Apple respectively.

Perhaps it was time to patch things up and be friends again? Was this just another public relations exercise or should the press mind its own business when it comes to two people simply having a cup of coffee.
