XFX Guns Blazing

Rumour has it that XFX to release a new card that is going to blow the competition away – literally.

Hardware Heaven has received exclusive news on the new, cutting edge DirectX 11 cards by XFX and it isn’t based on an NVIDIA GPU. The anonymous source told us that XFX will have their very own GTX 480 killer with some incredibly daring and unique styling.

Enter the XFX Radeon HD 5970 Black Edition with 4GB GDDR5 RAM and 6 screen Eyefinity setup.

“XFX have always developed the most powerful, versatile Gaming weapons in the world- and have just stepped up to the gaming plate and launched something spectacular that may well literally blow the current Nvidia offerings clean away.

Full details are not yet available, XFX have even refused to release an official press statement, but what we do know is that this beast of a graphics card has 4GB of memory, 6 mini display ports thus supporting a 6 screen Eyefinity setup, has a custom overclocking tool AND is the highest spec Black Edition model yet.

The Black Edition moniker is synonymous with AMD’s CPU’s for unlocked cores and overclocking, giving the best possible performance for the enthusiast.

“So have XFX an Nvidia premium partner – stepped away from Fermi? It seems they have done it for a damned good reason? Prepare to be thrilled by something nobody expected.

Whether or not XFX have cleanly broken away from the NVIDIA GTX 480 we are not too sure at this time but the indication is there.

We have pictures of the exclusive XFX 5970 Black Edition which Hardware Heaven believes will be a big hit in the enthusiast market for those that have to have the best and highest performing gaming PC money can buy. Imagine running two XFX Radeon HD 5970’s running in CrossfireX.

The box is in the style of a P90 sub-machine gun, a popular weapon of choice for fans of certain first person shooters, a new generation killing machine, apt for the new DirectX 11 graphics card XFX is rumoured to be launching soon. The casing also doubles up as a carry case, a feature that will be popular at LAN parties.

We also managed to get hold of some renderings of the new XFX cards for you to drool over:
