Multiplayer Modes For Halo: Reach Revealed

Bungie, speaking to 1UP, have revealed four of the new multiplayer modes that will be available in the Halo: Reach beta. The beta is due for launch on the 3rd May.

The first mode is called Headhunter is a free-for-all in which players collect skulls from vanquished opponents before having to carry them back to a deposit zone.

Stockpile is a team game that has elements of Capture the flag. Neutral flags appear randomly across the map and teams have to return them to capture points. The twist is that you’ll only score once a timer counts down every 60 seconds. At that point all flags in the cpature zones will generate a score for that players zone, regardless of who is holding them.

Generator Defence sees three Elites try to destroy three generators defended by three Spartans. The game is made up of two five minute halves with teams switching roles. Power weapons are dropped in randomly over the course of the match.

The final mode, Invasion, is a vehicle based combat experience, but the details of that are being kept closed to Bungie’s chest for now.
