Capcom Hint At Mega Man Online

Capcom Hint At Mega Man Online

Capcom have hinted that they may be creating a Mega Man online game as part of its new strategy to improve its overall revenue.

In a report by Gamespot it is said that Mega Man Online – possibly to be called Mega Man Universe, a name recently trademarked by Capcom – will be a PC based online game being developed alongside Neowiz Games from South Korea.

This new development is just part of several new marketing strategies to boost revenue. Capcom have also said they will look to cut development time on its big titles, be more “rigorous” when working with overseas partners and will be devoting somewhere to 20 or 30 percent of its resources to the development of new and original games.

Capcom’s financial problems came as something as a shock. Their net income fell 73 percent in the last fiscal year and overall revenues were down 27 percent. Part of the blame went on the poor sales of titles such as Dark Void and the Bionic Commando reboot.

However, the only way is up for the publisher with Monster Hunter Portable 3, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and Dead Rising 2 all on the horizon. Currently Lost Planet 2 has just gone on release also, with strong sales for all titles forecast.
