AMD RADEON 6800 Series Launch Review
Featuring: XFX Radeon 6870, PowerColor Radeon 6870,
Gigabyte Radeon 6850 and Sapphire Radeon 6850
This time last year AMD was in the process of releasing their first generation DirectX 11 parts and had delivered the 5800 and 5700 series to the market. Each of the models in those ranges was well received, some for their raw performance, others for the great balance of features, performance and value they offered.
AMD now have a complete range of DirectX 11 parts from budget models to high performance dual GPU cards and there are plenty of options in the mobile space too. Nothing ever stands still in the technology world though and today AMD has chosen to begin refreshing their DirextX 11 range with the release of the 6800 series which features cards that are an evolution of the first generation parts.

Today we have a number of these cards on our test bench and will be putting them through a selection of real world tests including standard gaming, Eyefinity gaming, Stereo 3D gaming, 3D Blu-Ray playback and GPU computing to see where they find themselves in the marketplace.
