On the last page we saw the benefits of using the RevoDrive during installations, now it’s time to look at how it affects tasks within one of those applications. In these tests we have taken two demanding Office tasks and performed each on the drives. First is a scan and repair of a large outlook PST file. That file, measuring 3.7 GB, has some damage and the tool provided by Microsoft scans it, then fixes. On the RevoDrive this task completes in 77 seconds, the C300 takes more than 30 seconds longer and as expected the X2 produces the most impressive result, finishing in 65 seconds.

In our second test we measure the time it takes Outlook to Index our personal folders on that same 3.7GB file. To give an indication of the complexity of this task, the inbox alone contains over 8400 emails. The indexing operation completes nearly 35 seconds faster on the X2 than the RevoDrive but the most impressive aspect is the results when using the now indexed content. Despite having to search through 8400 individual emails all search results are instant on the OCZ drive. As an example, searching the inbox for any email which features the word "alphabet" returns the 3 correct results instantly.
