XFX Radeon 6970 and Radeon 6950 Graphics Card Review
Mafia 2 – DirectX 9 / PhysX
Recently 2K Games released one of the most anticipated games of 2010, Mafia 2, which is a title that looks fantastic in surround mode and for those who have a capable system it also supports PhysX and 3D.
Testing was performed at 1920×1080 with anti-aliasing ON and 16x anisotropic filtering. High in game settings were enabled and PhysX was set to Off/High.
When playing Mafia 2 our GTX 500s are processing the graphics and PhysX workload at the same time, creating an unmatched visual experience for this game. Despite this increased workload the GTX 580 is still able to perform at a similar level to the Radeon 6950 which is processing less work.
For those who want raw performance the 6970 is king, performance mixed with image quality the winner is the GTX 580.
PowerColor offer their own branded version of the liquid cooled R9 295 X2… and now for those who want a similar level of framerate they have their air cooled dual core R9 290X with Devil 13 branding. Today we take a look at this R9 290X2 to see what Powercolor can do with their custom design card in a selection of games including Battlefield 4 and GRID Autosport at 4K resolution.
