Dragon Age 2 – DirectX 11

Dragon Age 2 was released recently and features support for various DirectX 11 features including Contact Hardening Shadows (more realistic), DirectCompute bloom effects, high quality depth of field, tessellation for smoother terrain, prepass lighting (higher detail lighting) and HDAO for low resource, high quality ambient occlusion.

Testing was performed at 5760×1080 with 4x anti-aliasing and maximum in game settings.

We noted on the single card performance evaluation that NVIDIA need to optimise for this game and the same is true in Quad GPU mode. That said it is clear that there is potential there for scaling in this game as the max fps on dual cards is significantly higher than the single result.

Here is an example of how the game looks at our tested settings.
