Intel 320 Series 300GB Solid State Drive Review

Over the last few weeks we have taken a look at two new SSDs from Intel. First up was the 510 series, their new high end product which is aimed at enthusiasts who crave the best performance and latest features such as SATA3 support. Then it was the turn of a rather unique model, the mini-PCIe based 310 series which is aimed at improving storage performance in mobile systems, whether they be tablets or laptops.

Those are not the only new SSDs that Intel offers though, they also have a new range of drives for mainstream consumers which improve on the features and performance of their existing X25-M range. Today we have one of the 320 Series SSDs connected to our test system and will find out what it offers and whether it can compete with its main competition, a SandForce based model of similar capacity, in a selection of real world and synthetic tests.
