The Alumic arrives in a hard plastic packet and wrapped around the top is a cardboard sleeve which lets us know about the products key features. We can also clearly see both sides of the mat through the packaging and Roccat provide two sample areas on the cardboard sleeve so that consumers can feel the surface textures. As noted above there are two surfaces to the Alumic and these sit either side of an anodized aluminium core that ensures the easy clean surface wont warp. A gel wrist rest with non-slip rubber base is included and can be placed at the edge of the mat or on the surface if preferred. The Alumic measures 331x272mm and is 3mm thick with four non-slip rubber feet, one at each corner. For the two surfaces the more colourful side is designed for smoother gliding and fast mouse movements. The darker side has a more granular surface which adds control for those who use high DPI settings and to maximise the performance of the pad Roccat tested the surfaces with their own mice and models from Microsoft, Logitech, SteelSeries and Razer.
