Tritton AX Pro True 5.1 Headset Review

Last month we reviewed a mouse, the Cyborg R.A.T. 9 which was one of the most advanced wireless mice that we have seen. This wasn’t its main selling point though; the key feature was its huge level of customisation with a massive amount of extras including replacement palm rest, weights, pinkie grip and the ability to tweak the length or angle of various sections to perfectly fit our hand. It was clear that the manufacturer, and their parent company Mad Catz had gone all out to create the ultimate mouse.

This design ethic isn’t limited to their mice though and under the Tritton brand Mad Catz have a number of headsets which are designed to excel at their various price points. At the top of the range is the AX Pro 5.1, a true 5.1 headset which has features such as optical in and compatibility with PS3 and XBOX 360 as well as PC. Today we run the AX Pro through a selection of tests to find out if it is as impressive in the headset market as the R.A.T. 9 was for mice.
