Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB DiRT 3 Edition Graphics Card Review

DirectX 11 Eyefinity (HAWX 2 and DiRT 3)

HAWX 2 for PC and makes significant use of Tessellation as well as being a DirectX 11 title and we are using it, along with DiRT 3 to test 3×1 Eyefinity mode on this card.

For HAWX 2 testing was performed at 5760×1080 with maximum in game detail, including anti-aliasing. DiRT 3 was tested at 5760×1080 with Ultra detail.

In this test it is great to see that the 6950 DiRT 3 Edition is able to provide us with playable framerates at 5760×1080 which looks fantastic in flight and driving based games. When we consider that it is doing so with maximum game detail this becomes all the more impressive.

It is also worth noting that the 6950 (and similar Radeons) are the only cards capable of powering 3 screen gaming on a single GPU. Nvidia setups require two GPUs to have the same experience at this time.
