SteelSeries 7H Headset for iPod, iPhone and iPad Review

SteelSeries 7H Headset for iPod, iPhone and iPad

In August 2010 we reviewed the SteelSeries 7H headset along with the optional USB soundcard and found it to be one of the best headsets available for PC users. The quality of construction, design and more importantly audio quality were top notch and we had no hesitation in giving it a gold award. It was so good in fact that since then it has been our headset of choice for day to day use, despite many alternative models passing through our office since then.

Since that original 7H review we have seen SteelSeries branch out into audio for other devices, first adding Xbox 360 compatibility to their 5 series headsets and then back in February we took a look at a revised version of the Siberia Neckband Headset which had been released offering full compatibility with Apple based devices.

It seems that these initial devices for platforms other than the PC have been a success for SteelSeries as we are now starting to see multiple products receive a refresh for alternate compatibility. The latest to hit the market is the revised version of the 7H headset, this time giving us full compatibility with iPod, iPad and iPhone as well as an improved experience with other portable devices. Today we have the revised 7H connected to our media and will find out if it reaches the same high standards as then original version.
