Real World System Performance – Civilization 5

Civilization 5 was released at the end of September 2010 and in a somewhat surprising move the developers have included a number of advanced graphical features in the latest version of this franchise. This includes support for DirectX 11 and terrain tessellation, ensuring this is the best looking Civilization ever.

Testing was performed at 1600×900 with 2x anti-aliasing and maximum in-game settings.

When playing Civ 5 the game is quite forgiving of low framerates due to the turn based nature of the game however this isn’t even a consideration on the M14x as it powers through the test with ease. Even at maximum detail it is averaging over 40fps, here is an example of how the game looks at these settings.
