ASUS Transformer (TF101) – Tegra 2 Tablet and Keyboard Dock Review

Android tablets have come a long way in the last 6-months or so. No doubt spurred on by the high quality chassis and screen used by Apple on their iPad models manufacturers went from having generic cases and varied screen qualities to the latest products having class leading build quality. Features and performance have also taken huge leaps forward since the beginning of 2011 where single core 700MHz processors were the norm, now it is dual 1GHz core’s and decent GPUs that we look for… and that’s before we even consider the OS evolution.

A manufacturer who is keen to get a decent slice of the high end Android market is ASUS and their Transformer tablet which is reminiscent of a faux-leather couture handbag or wallet is a slim, lightweight Android tablet that doubles as a capable laptop thanks to a matching keyboard dock. Today we will be taking a detailed look at the Transformer to find out if ASUS can back up the high quality styling with some substance.
