Corsair uses a metal casing for their Force Series 3 range, one which is identical to their previous models in construction. Other than the warranty stickers there is nothing on the bottom of the drive however the top has an information sticker which lists items such as the capacity.
For this model Corsair use a green PCB and on the top side we can see the SandForce SF-2281 controller which is the same chip used in the Force Series GT drives. There are 8 MLC NAND flash chips on either side of the board arranged in rows of four. These are Asynchronous NAND chips manufactured by Micron and these are branded 29F16BN08CAMEI.
http://euratex.eu/?conducting-dissertation-defense Conducting Dissertation Defense Corsair rate their SATA 3 based 240GB Force Series 3 at 550MB/s read with write at 520MB/s and this close ratio of read to write is once again down to the SandForce controller and its data management algorithms. This performance is then maintained by TRIM in operating systems such as Windows 7. For IOPS performance Corsair rate the drive at 85,000 on compressible data 4KB Random Write. Also worth noting is that this drive uses 2.0w when active.
