Dell XPS 14z Laptop Review

Real World System Performance – GPU Computing

As we noted earlier in the review the Inspiron 14z allows us, when used with the correct software, to take advantage of GPU acceleration in tasks which are normally performed on CPU only. One such piece of software is Cyberlink Media Expressso.



Results


We saw last week when testing the Inspiron 14z that the system benefits from having the GPU assist the CPU in converting video, in this case for use on a tablet. When we enable the same technology on the XPS 14z it uses the NVIDIA GPU and with this more powerful video processor our encoding time is reduced further.
