Star Wars: The Old Republic Razer Gaming Peripherals Hands-On Preview (Mouse, Headset and Pad)

While the gaming world has been going crazy over the last few months about the two big releases of the year, Battlefield 3 and Modern warfare 3, quietly working its way towards release is one title which promises to be a game changer for the gaming world. For some time now World of Warcraft has ruled over everything in the Mass Multiplayer Online Roleplaying market. Many have tried to match the quality and player numbers of WoW but outside a select number, the likes of Rift and Guild Wars, few have succeeded.

Even titles based on the two key Sci-Fi franchises have met with limited success in the MMO world. Star Trek Online, despite being one of the better MMO’s, never caught on with a mainstream audience who clearly felt alienated by the Trek universe and even Star Wars Galaxies couldn’t capitalise on its fan base.

That seems set to change with the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic when it launches in the next week. We have been playing through the beta and you can read our thoughts here. Of course every big game release can be enhanced by a set of quality devices which tie in with the overall feel of the franchise and that is exactly what Razer aim to deliver with their The Old Republic gaming gear. We have the mouse, headset and mouse mat on our test bench today for a detailed look at what they offer for The Old Republic gamer.
