HIS Radeon HD 7970 Graphics Card ReviewJust before Christmas AMD released their latest generation of graphics cards with the high end Radeon 7970. Based on a 28nm manufacturing process and featuring a number of significant enhancements over the previous generation we took a look at that card here and in CrossFire over here… but at the time AMD limited their coverage of the product to reference cards, no discussion of partner products was allowed. That changes today and first up on our test bench is the HIS Radeon HD 7970 3GB. We will be putting it up against the best of the last generation in a selection of real world tests which include Battlefield 3, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Skyrim… all at 5760×1080. In addition to this we will also look at GPU computing and media performance as well as power and thermal performance. |
