We continue our gaming tests with a look at the recently released Star Wars: The Old Republic, a new MMORPG from Bioware and Lucasarts. Before we look specifically at the results though there are two points of note. The first is that as with all online games the benchmark runs will have a little more variance than single player titles which are easier to control in terms of repeated runs. The second aspect is that SW:TOR is capped at 112fps, something which really only affects 1920×1080.

So, with those points in mind we see that the cap does keep the 7970 and GTX 680 at similar performance levels for single screen gaming. There is an improvement in performance going from GTX 580 to 680 though. When we move to 5760×1080 the results spread out though with AMD offering the higher performance.

Here are examples of how the game looks at our tested settings.
