Sapphire HD 7970 OverClock Edition DUAL-X Graphics Card Review

AMD launched their Radeon 7900 series in December and at that time there was no word of partner cards. January and CES changed that though with manufacturers getting samples to reviewers and stock into stores and etailers. The majority of those cards were the same though with reference PCBs and coolers only differing in the stickers used.

Since January AMDs partners have been dealing with a steady stream of new models from the 7700 and 7800 series and some custom 7970s have been few and far between. With the 7800s launching last week attention has returned to the 7900′s with Sapphire first to supply their new custom design, factory overclocked 7970. Today we have one on our test bench and will be putting it through a selection of real world gaming tests, including Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3 to find what Sapphire can do with their own design.
