OCZ Technology Vertex 4 SSD Review (256GB and 512GB)

4K QD32 Performance (CrystalDiskMark)

In this test a mechanical drive such as the Barracuda XT or VelociRaptor score around 2.0/1.5MB/s which gives us a baseline figure for performance.

Benchmark Results

The result in this test will go some way to showing how responsive a drive will be in Windows use as the operations performed are similar to the random reads and writes regularly performed by the OS.

In this test we see a significant change in fortunes for the Vertex 4. It might not have peaked as high as some other drives on the last test but in 4K performance both models are very strong, easily outperforming the other drives on reads. For writes the Vertex 4 is three times as fast as the Samsung drive and more than double Sandforce models.
