HTC Desire C Android Smartphone Review

Over the past few months we have taken a look at some truly impressive smartphones, from the Sony Experia S to the Samsung Galaxy S3. Nestled in between the two was the HTC One X, a product which was one of the first to market with the new multi-core Tegra 3 chipset and some impressive build quality and specifications. Not everyone can afford the latest and greatest though so HTC began releasing lower spec phones with a key release being the One S which we reviewed a few weeks ago.

Now, sitting at the entry level in terms of new Android 4.0 smartphones is HTC’s Desire C. Clearly taking its design from the high end One family the Desire C looks to replace the Wildfire at the bottom end of the HTC product stack and today we have a handset on our test bench to find out what it offers.

Packaging and Bundle

HTC Example Box HTC Example Box

Our review sample of the HTC Desire C arrived in a plain white box however retail samples use near identical boxes to those we saw on our One X sample (shown above). It is a rounded cardboard box with a slip cover featuring the phone branding and artwork. It is a very minimalistic design and cracks open to reveal the handset, wrapped in protective plastic and suspended in a tray.

In a separate compartment below the phone we find the product documentation and our bundled extras. These consist of a USB data/charge cable, earphones and a charger with USB socket.
