Gigabyte SkyVision WS100 Review
Best known for their high end motherboards and graphics cards Gigabyte have won numerous awards on Hardware Heaven and are popular across the world. As we have seen in the past though they are not just a brand which focuses on those components, their keyboard and mouse ranges have also been impressive and most recently we saw the first Intel Inside Android smartphone which is built by Gigabyte. So what else do they do?
Well today on our test bench we have the SkyVision WS100. With a name that doesn’t quite give away its purpose the SkyVision is a nifty little box of tricks that allows us to stream HD video from any HDMI ready device to another, wirelessly. Could this be the answer to many peoples cable jungles?

Packaging and Bundle
The SkyVision WS100 is supplied in a compact cardboard box that features a large picture of the receiver and transmitter on the front. We also note that the box states that the product it is fully capable of transmitting 1080P HD content.
Turning to the back of the package we find some paragraphs of text explaining the concept of the SkyVision WS100. We also find a graphic showing the receiver and transmitter connected to input and output devices.
On the end of the package there are some additional images of the receiver and transmitter showing the connections they have as well as a QR code that links us to the Gigabyte website.
Opening the package up we find that the receiver and transmitter are stored in moulded foam to ensure that they are protected during transit. The inside cover of the lid also has a foam layer for even more protection. Underneath the top layer we find the power unit and leads that are provided with the SkyVision WS100.
Finally Gigabyte have provided a quick installation guide in both English and German as well as a CD that contains the full product manual which has multiple language options. It should be noted that the SkyVision WS100 is plug and play, and requires no software to be installed so the CD only contains the manual.
