Taking a closer look at the U320 headset we find that it is finished in black and features a light blue highlight around the earcup. The microphone is located on the left earcup and swivels from the vertical to the horizontal.
The product name, U320, is printed on the headset just above the earcup. One of the key features of the U320 is a proprietary technology that Sennheiser use called CircleFlex. CircleFlex earcup automatically adjust to the wearers head, giving a very comfortable fit when being used. The U320 also features an open acoustic design that allows built up heat to escape, ensuring our head is kept cool while gaming.
Looking at the more detailed technical specifications each earpiece on the U320 has a frequency response of 15-23,000Hz with an impedance of 32 Ohms and a sound pressure level of 113dB.
On the left side of the headset we have the microphone location. It features a good level of resistance during its movement action which ensures that once we have set the microphone to the required level it sits there without issue.
In terms of specification the microphone has a uni-directional pick up pattern with a 2kOhm impedance and 70-15,000Hz frequency with a sensitivity of -38dBV/PA.
The U320 headset is a headband style model and can be extended by increasing the length of either side by a simple pull. There are sixteen individual lengths which can be selected on each side increasing the size by around two inches. The headband features a fabric cushioned section for extra comfort. The ear cups also have the same fabric cushioning used on the headband.
The U320 has an inline control module located about a foot down the cable. This module provides us with independent control over the main volume and the voice channel. It also gives us the ability to boost the bass, which is great when listening to action movies or playing first person shooters. There is another button which is a slide tone switch. This switch allows us to monitor our own voice, making sure we aren’t too loud when speaking on voice comms.
The U320 comes with a 4m or 13.12ft cable that finishes in a USB connector for plugging into our PC or games console. Overall the U320 weighs 284g.
