Antec GX700 Case Review

Conclusion

Looking first to the build quality of the GX700 we have a case which feels sturdy with minimal flex to the main body of the product. The paintwork is fault free and each component well soldered or bolted/screwed to the next. Even smaller items like the drive trays and front buttons are of a decent quality but there have clearly been a few minor corners cut to minimise costs. For example the plastic surround on the front, lack of rubber covers on the internal wiring holes or dust filter on the side intake location.

In terms of design the military theme will appeal to many and it has allowed Antec to make some really nice little design tweaks such as the external drive bay clips and interesting fan speed switch cover. We also like that the front filter is easily removable, that there are three exhaust fans installed as standard and that there is plenty of space inside the case. That means we can get cards like the GTX 680 or Radeon 7970 installed with ease as well as 12cm rear radiators or even 240mm top mounted cooling.
