To test these coolers we used the following configuration:
In each test the coolers had their radiator mounted on the back of the GX700 with air being drawn in from the outside (then exhausted out the top). We tested first at the stock speed/voltage for the i7-3770K and then at 4.8GHz using 1.4v. Idle tests results were taken after 15mins of sitting at the desktop, load tests were taken once the system had reached a maximum temperature during Prime95 activity (maximum fan speed).
Looking first at the results when at stock speed/voltage we see that each of the coolers keeps our CPU nice and cold at idle with very little variation in temperature between the three. As we move to load the results spread out a little with Cooler Master having a slight edge.
When we then up the speed to 4.8GHz and voltage to 1.4v the load temperature increases by over 20°C on each cooler, though they all top out at around 76-77°C. Essentially a draw… unless we take into account noise where Corsair offer significantly quieter operation than the Cooler Master.
