Today we will be taking Mad Catz new gaming keyboard, the S.T.R.I.K.E. 7 through its paces. The S.T.R.I.K.E. 7, like previous products from Mad Catz, such as the R.A.T. mice is a heavily customisable product that incorporates a touch screen display along with the more standard QWERTY keyboard we would expect.
Packaging and Bundle
Our model of the S.T.R.I.K.E. 7 keyboard arrived in a large sized cardboard box. Like many of the products from Mad Catz the S.T.R.I.K.E. 7 box has angular cut a ways on the corners that make it very distinctive. The packaging features a large graphic of the keyboard assembled in its most traditional layout.
Opening the box we find all the components of the keyboard neatly packaged and secured with cardboard inserts. This ensures that the contents are unlikely to move in transit and become damaged. Each of the various components is individually wrapped in plastic, and we are also provided with a user manual to explain the various layouts of the keyboard.
Looking at some of the individual components of the S.T.R.I.K.E. 7 we find that all of the connection cables provided are braided for durability.
Along with all the key components Mad Catz have also provided interchangeable WASD/cursor keys and a key switch tool that allows us to further customise the keyboard to our personal preference/feel. To support the touch screen display there is also a power unit that plugs directly from the mains into the cable system that connects the unit together.
