File Copy Tests

Benchmark Results

In the first of our "true" real world tests we have created three file copy scenarios which cover operations which users are likely to perform on a regular basis. We copy a folder of 27GB (game) and then multiple files totalling 1.1GB (Music) as well as a single 4GB item (video) from location to location within the drive, recording the time taken to complete the task. Starting off with the smallest transfer all of the drives perform the operation in around the same time. As we move up to the 4GB video file the results are varied with Plextor in the middle of the pack. That changes with our large transfer where the M5 Pro excels, easily outperforming the rest of the comparison products.
