The Z10

Blackberry Z10 front

The Z10 is offered in two colours at this time, black and white with our handset being the former. The handset measures 130×65.6x9mm and weighs 137.5g. There is no Corning Gorilla Glass present here and underneath the alternative scratch resistant screen we find a 4.2" capacitive display which has a resolution of 768×1280 pixels with a 355ppi density. There are no buttons marked out around the display however it is touch sensitive out to the edge of the glass with gesture support.

At the top of the handset is the power/lock button, a mic and the 3.5mm audio connector. Down at the base we have another mic (on the front) and a small slot which allows us to remove the back cover.

Speaking of the back, on here we find the Blackberry logo and our camera with LED flash. This is an 8megapixel model and auto-focus with face detection is supported as is geo-tagging and 1080p video with stabilization. On the front we also find a camera, this time a 2MP/720p part.

By removing the back cover we can see that Blackberry opt for a removable battery, 1800mAh in this case. A micro SIM is required and there is also a micro-SD card slot to bump up the storage by up to 64GB. Blackberry have opted for a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor (1.5GHz Krait) with Adreno 225GPU. The OS is provided with 2GB of RAM and storage of 16 GB is the standard configuration. The handset supports 4G/LTE as well as the more widely available HSDPA (21Mbps), HSUPA (5.76mbps). Also included is Wi-Fi-n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and A-GPS. Accelerometer, gyro, compass and proximity sensor are also present in the Z10 as is NFC.
