Around a month ago we took our first look at a SSD from Plextor. The M5 Pro was based around the latest Marvell controller and we found it to be a hugely impressive drive. Now Plextor have built a mSATA SSD around the latest Marvell controller and hope to offer desktop like SATA 6GB/s performance in the compact form factor. Today we find out how it compares to an existing mSATA SSD as well as some desktop models.


Packaging and Bundle

With this being a product designed for more advanced users to fit in their laptop, or on select motherboards with mSATA slots, the packaging for the M5M drive is minimal. We get a simple plastic packet with a basic sticker giving some product information.
