Back in October we reviewed a range of internal drive bays from ICY DOCK. Designed to easily add storage to a system, they were solidly built and offered decent performance. It is fair to say though that ICY DOCK are better known for their external enclosures and soon they will be launching a new model featuring various RAID modes and USB 3.0.

We have that very model, the ICYRaid MB662U3-2S on our desk today and will be looking at its design, features and performance to see what ICY DOCK can do with a high end enclosure.

Packaging and Bundle

ICY DOCK package the enclosure in a box which gives us some nice clear images of the product and how the install works. There are various blurbs and specification notes on the box to assist the consumer and inside we find the unit suspended in foam and wrapped in plastic for protection. Bundled with the enclosure, in their own sub boxes, are a mains cable, PSU, USB 3.0 cable and a short manual.

So let’s take a look at the enclosure…
