The New Dell XPS 18 Portable All-in-One Desktop Review

When Samsung created the Galaxy Note it pushed the boundaries of what consumers thought about handset size. Called a Phablet (or Superphone) by many its successor was even bigger and interestingly was more easily accepted by the masses as a phone. Since then the likes of Sony have moved into the same space with handsets such as the new Xperia Z Ultra which features a 6.4" screen.

So phones start to become something else at around 5-6inches but when does a tablet become something more? Today we look at a device which Dell market as a "Portable All in One Desktop", the XPS 18. Is it a desktop though… or is it just about the biggest (and most powerful) tablet out there?

Dell package the XPS 18 in a large heavy cardboard outer box and suspended in foam inside we find the main retail box for the product as well as some bundled items. Stored in their own boxes are a wireless keyboard and mouse and 65w PSU.

Also bundled with the XPS 18 is a rubber lined stand/dock which allows us to tilt the display at angles from almost vertical to almost horizontal. We can also run our PSU cable through the back of the stand to a power input which then passes the power feed to the pins on the dock for charging.
