Cooling is an essential aspect of any system whether it be budget or enthusiast. Of course like any component within a system, higher specification tends to mean higher price and while it is possible to get coolers for a low cost, costs for larger, more powerful units the costs increase significantly… usually.

Today we have an enthusiast cooler from GamerStorm attached to our test system. With specifications which are very much enthusiast, on paper, the price is very much budget. So let’s find out if the Lucifer can perform as well as GamerStorm claim.

Packaging and Bundle

Lucifer CPU Cooler box

The Lucifer arrives in a box which is very minimalist. Only the company logo and product name are visible on the outside sleeve. The inner section slides out and folds open to reveal the cooler wrapped in a plastic bag and the other components in their own sub boxes.

Lucifer CPU Cooler bundle

Bundled with the main heatsink we get installation brackets and items for socket 775, 1150, 1155, 1156, 1366 and 2011 as well as AM2/3/FM1/2. The manual covers installs for AMD/Intel systems and some thermal paste is also included as are fan clips, for two fans. We also note that the components for each install are individually bagged so, for example, Intel users don’t need to rake through AMD items.
