LG G Pro 2 Unveiled

Product image

Just as promised, LG unveiled its next-gen flagship phablet today. The LG G Pro 2 draws from the LG G2 when it comes to design, but features a larger 5.9-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display in comparison to the 5.5-inch panel in the original Optimus G Pro. Despite the larger screen size, LG’s new phablet matches the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 when it comes to physical dimensions. This has been achieved by having an extremely high screen-to-body ratio, claimed highest so far in any Smartphone. As with the G2, the G Pro 2 features volume rockers and a power button at the rear of the device, placed near the camera module. Knock-on is a part of the software feature set, also borrowed from the G2.

The LG G Pro 2 features a 13 MP camera that is slightly upgraded from the 13 MP unit found in the G2. Its support has been expanded to 1080p video at 120 FPS, as well as the ability to shoot video in 4K resolution. G Pro 2’s internal storage is at a comfortable 32 GB, which is really a life saver. Humming at the device’s heart is a 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, backed by 3 GB of RAM. A 3,200 mAh removable (yet to be confirmed) battery should provide enough juice for all-day-long productivity. The OS of choice is Android 4.4 KitKat. G Pro 2 will ship in silver, black and white.
