Seagate NAS HDD Review 8TB – Conclusion

We also get a firmware tuned for NAS operation, solid build quality and some very impressive read/write speeds, nearing 250mb/s. Key to the drive’s appeal though is that it is specifically designed to perform well, be reliable and fully supported in all key brands of NAS. Looking at the Seagate documentation alone we have a number of quotes from Synology, Qnap etc which sets the tone but more importantly, in our own experience, the NAS HDD worked flawlessly in a range of NAS devices from Synology, Qnap, Thecus and ASUSTOR. It also worked without issue on our Windows desktop build.

Available from Ebuyer and Newegg.

    Hello,

I just received an seagate 8tb NAS HDD and now i’m looking at getting a NAS. I was looking at a 4-bay seagate NAS, however, I know that some NASs have a limit on the capacity of each bay. So I was wondering if an 8tb would still work if the NAS had a capacity of 6tb per bay?
