7.1 side speakers

Hey there, I am a first time user of the kX project. The official drivers from Creative are no longer accepted by my Audigy2ZS (even manually doing it fails) The kX project saved me though and I am thankful for that.

I am aware that you guys did not design this with gamers in mind, however I am one so I'm trying to make the most of this seeing as I have little choice.

Again I have an Audigy2ZS using XP SP3, I also have creative 7.1 speakers. However it seems that the Surrounder+ presets do not take into account my side speakers (as if the preset was a copy of the 5.1 ones) However I can make the side speakers respond to the speaker test so it is detecting them but audio does not get mapped to them in normal use.

Is there a way around this?

AFAIK, Surrounder does not use the side channels when upmixing, but it should pass any audio (to the side speakers) that is designated for the side channels (if present) from the OS, when set to 7.1 mode (as you observed with the speaker test).
