Bug with DS3D
I know faq says that there are many aspects of DS3D and expecially EAX that aren't still supported by the driver, but I just want to make my experience public so maybe it can be a startpoint for someone who may want to fix it.
I was just playing Star Trek Elite Force II game that features up to EAX 3.0 support. I just activated EAX 1.0 to get DS3D positional support, and it works very well. I noticed some curious situation when I fire with the weapons when moving. Practically the sounds goes around the character being played once from rear left, then rear right, then from the 2 front channels and so on... choosing randomly a position. When the character stops the sound is correctly played from 2 front channels. I noticed also that an ambiental sound (storm rumble, very loud at low frequencies) got cracked, like a buffer going out of samples, when the character is moving. When the character is stopped, the sound is perfect. My speaker setup is 4.1 and properly configured under Windows. I hope I will help someone with these infos and thank you for giving this jewel of software! (kx intended! )
