Watching DVD AC3 decoding problem...

hiho,
okay, I have got a problem with watching DVD with PowerDVDXP! My Soundsystem is 5.1. I don´t use the SPDIF, the card is decoding the signal.

Now my problem: if the loudness reches high values I can hear snaps.

I have the exact same problem. If PowerDVD is set to send the signal via SPDIF to the card, and let it decode, you get the clipping. But, if you go into the PowerDVD options and tell it to decode the audio for your sound system (6, 7, 8 speakers, whatever [just remember that 5+1=6]), then you won't get the clipping

I think it's a card problem, because I've noticed it happening with my XBox sound - which is passed over spdif to the card...

I get the same problem so I just get the DVD software to decode the signal. Of course, I have a decoder in my external receiver, so it's a shame I can't get the drivers to pass the undecoded signal through. Anyone else able to do it?
