Capture problems with JVC cam

I just reinstalled windows xp pro sp1, Got a new firewwire cable, I have the latest drivers for my Readon 9550 card, the latest motherboard drivers for an Abit is7, I have 8 firewire inputs spread across 4 differnt units. One is a stratitec Pci card w/ 3 inputs. One is a peace that mounts in the the back but don't use a pci slot, it just plugs into my mother board via cables. One is direct to my motherboard . And 2 are on my SB audigy sound Card. And not one of these will work. In the device manager there are three listings for IEEE 1394 devices and all are enabled with drivers. In the bios IEEE is set to enabled. My Jvc cam is only 6 months old and has worked before with DV inputs, but not on this computer yet. but with all have here and done to make it work i can't belive that it don't. And i have no idea what IRQ's are but poking around device manager some things have IRQ setting of 26, 23, 22 ,7,2,13,etc... Am i missing somthing that's right in front of my face. Thanx for any replies.

Are you sure the ports don't work? I think it shows 3 entries because its one per controller regardless of how many ports it has.

Also don't worry about IRQ's just yet, I'm not so sure that's what it is.

Try taking out that one firewire controller, leave the sound card in, and use the one on the motherboard or sound card and see if that helps

Acxactly, I Have 4 controllers as stated above, one is on my SB audgiy card witch has 2 ports, but that one might not be pluged in and i'm not worried about that one anyway's. so that leaves 3 others devices that cotains ports. one of the three should work now wouldn't you think? Windows xp pro comes with all the drivers i need for these devices. I went to the stratitec webstie because one of my devices is a pci card and said no drivers available windows take care of it, and it should.

Well it still looks to me like you've got too many firewire controllers....
